In recognition of the 59th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence, the Jamaican Consulate General in Miami will be hosting the annual ecumenical service on Sunday, August 1, 2021, starting at 4:00 p.m.

The service will be held at the Cooper City Church of God, located at 9191 Stirling Road in Cooper City, Florida.

The Service will also be broadcast live on various media platforms.

This year’s sermon will be delivered by Pastor Robert Stewart, Senior Pastor of the Pentecostal Tabernacle, Miami Gardens. The officiating minister will be Reverend Horace Ward, senior pastor of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family also in Miami Gardens.

The service will feature the official message from the Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Right Hon. Andrew Holness, ON, M.P. The order of service will also include several recitals by local artists, including the South Florida Caribbean Chorale, conducted by Steve Higgins, the Tallawah Mento Band, conducted by Colin Smith, and the Jamaica Folk Revue, among others.

In line with this year’s theme “Jamaica 59 Stronger Together,” Consul General Mair invites Diaspora nationals and friends to join us in celebrating Jamaica as an independent nation.
