Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairwoman Khaleda Zia has received the “Mother of Democracy” award from the Canadian International Human Rights Organization.

Disclosing the matter at a press conference at the BNP Chairman’s office in Gulshan, its Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, said CHRIO had nominated Khaleda Zia for this award for his outstanding contributions to the protection of democracy. , human rights and fundamental rights of the people of the country.

Khaleda Zia received a certificate and a crest, he said.

He said the Canadian High Commission also approved the award.
