New group of Qatari real estate brokers sworn in

A new batch of licensed Qatari real estate brokers was sworn in before the Justice Ministry’s Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee yesterday.

The batch included 23 mediators between individuals and real estate brokerage firms, increasing the number of licensed brokers since the activation of the new law to more than 318 Qatari real estate brokers licensed and registered with the real estate brokerage department.

The license for this lot comes, since the Ministry of Justice began to activate Law No. 22 of 2017 regulating real estate brokerage, within the framework of executive procedures for the provisions of the law, and pushing the work of real estate brokerage towards an organized and prepared legal environment to keep pace with the economic and urban revival of the state and the great expansion of the real estate sector, with the necessary reconfiguration and organization of the real estate system to achieve the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 .

The Deputy Undersecretary for Real Estate Registration and Documentation Affairs and Chairman of the Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee, Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, underscored the ministry’s keenness to advance the real estate brokerage profession and its interest in developing the professions legal, in the foreground is the real estate brokerage profession due to the results directly related to the national development process, of which the real estate sector is one of the main pillars.

Al Suwaidi stressed the need to deal with licensed brokers due to its importance in protecting the rights of different parties and cautioned against dealing with unlicensed brokers after the time period expires to reconcile the situation and begin to activate the law on real estate mediation.

The Department of Justice emphasizes the need to deal with Department-licensed real estate brokers to avoid violations of the law resulting from conducting brokerage business without a license.

The license for this batch came after following the specific organizational procedures provided for by law, which include interviewing candidates for the work of the profession, inspecting their offices and verifying that they comply with the requirements of exercise of the profession, and participation in specialized training courses at the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies (CLJS)
